Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Speaking for Success — the website, the speaker roster, the booking tools and the Roster Pro membership. By creating an account or booking through the platform you agree to them.

Last updated: 10 October 2026

1. Who we are

Speaking for Success ("SFS", "we", "us") is a product of BMEC Services LLC. We operate an online marketplace that connects event organizers with professional speakers, and we also deliver keynote engagements under the Speaking for Success name.

Our platform is available at speakingforsuccess.app and the associated preview and management URLs.

2. What the service does

  • A public speaker roster with profiles, topics, languages and fee ranges.
  • An availability and booking request flow for event organizers.
  • A signed client agreement and a signed speaker agreement for each engagement.
  • A members-only Roster Room where approved speakers see open engagements and can express interest.
  • Opportunity Scout, a continuously refreshed list of potential speaking engagements across industries.
  • A speaker dashboard with profile management and enquiry activity.

We do not promise that any account will be booked, that any engagement will be filled, or that any feature will produce a particular result.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You may keep one account, and you must give accurate information, keep your sign-in details private and tell us promptly about any unauthorised use of your account.

Sign-in is provided through Google. Roster profiles are reviewed before publication, and we may decline or remove a profile that does not meet our standards without giving a reason.

4. Speakers are independent

Speakers listed on the roster are independent professionals, not employees, agents or partners of Speaking for Success. Where an organizer books a third-party speaker, the speaking engagement is a contract between the organizer and that speaker. SFS provides the listing, the matching tools, the agreements and the payment handling.

We are not responsible for a speaker's conduct, delivery, travel, cancellations or any dispute between the parties, except where a signed agreement says otherwise.

5. Fees and the platform split

On engagements booked through the platform, the speaker keeps 75% of the booking fee and Speaking for Success retains a flat 25% platform fee. The fee shown or confirmed to an organizer is the total for the engagement; the split is applied on our side.

  • Browsing the roster and sending an availability request costs nothing.
  • Roster Pro membership costs $34.99 per month and is billed through Stripe.
  • Keynotes delivered under the Speaking for Success name are quoted per event after a discovery call.
  • Taxes, travel, accommodation and technical requirements are set out in the engagement agreement.

Full details, including a worked example, are on the pricing page. We may change our pricing with at least 30 days' notice; a change does not affect an engagement already confirmed.

6. Membership and billing

Roster Pro renews monthly until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your access running until the end of the period you already paid for; we do not charge a cancellation fee. If a payment fails or a card expires, membership features are paused until payment is fixed. You can manage billing through the account dashboard.

7. Bookings, changes and cancellations

A booking becomes confirmed when the details are agreed and the relevant agreement is signed. Cancellation, rescheduling and deposit terms for a specific engagement are the ones recorded in the signed client agreement or speaker agreement for that engagement.

If an engagement is cancelled for reasons outside a speaker's control, we will work with both sides on a reschedule before any refund discussion.

8. Your content and our licence

You keep ownership of the profile text, photos, videos and materials you upload. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and promote that content inside the platform and in marketing for the roster, and to keep copies for records and backups after removal.

You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload and that it is not unlawful, misleading, infringing, hateful or harassing.

9. Opportunity Scout and lead data

Opportunity Scout surfaces publicly available information about events and organisations so members can approach them directly. Details may be incomplete or out of date, so verify them before you contact anyone. Do not present a Scout entry as a confirmed invitation, do not mass-message, and do not resell or export the list.

10. Prohibited use

  • Copying, scraping or reselling the roster, lead lists or any part of the platform.
  • Arranging a platform-sourced engagement off-platform to avoid the platform fee.
  • Creating false profiles, impersonating anyone, or posting content you have no right to share.
  • Interfering with the service, its security, or its rate limits, or probing it for weaknesses.
  • Using the service for unlawful purposes or to harass, defame or discriminate against anyone.

11. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that listings will stay accurate, or that you will earn income from it. We are not a party to the speaking engagement itself and do not guarantee any speaker's performance.

12. Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that puts other users at risk, or that remains inactive. Closure does not release either side from obligations already earned, and confirmed engagements must still be honoured.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced on this page with a new "last updated" date and, where practical, by email. Continued use after the date of change means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which BMEC Services LLC is organised, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be heard there. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited by contract.
