Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Speaking for Success collects when you browse the roster, create an account, list as a speaker, request a booking or pay a membership fee — and what we do with it.
Last updated: 10 October 2026
1. The short version
- We collect only what the service needs: your sign-in identity, your profile, your event details and your billing records.
- Card numbers are handled by our payment processor. We never see or store full card details.
- We do not sell personal information and we do not share your contact details before you choose to.
- You can ask us to show, correct, export or delete what we hold about you.
2. Information we collect
From your sign-in. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, profile photo and the fact that Google verified your account.
From you, directly. Speaker profile details (headline, biography, topics, industry, city and country, languages, fee range, website, video link, photo), availability notes, messages and files you upload, and any information in a booking request or signed agreement.
From event organizers. Organisation name, event date and format, audience size, venue or platform, budget range, contact name, email and phone number.
From billing. Membership status, invoice and receipt records, and the last four digits and expiry of the card on file as reported by the payment processor.
Automatically. Device type, browser, approximate location derived from IP address, pages viewed, referral source, and the time and duration of visits. Sign-in and account changes are logged.
From public sources. Opportunity Scout collects publicly available information about organisations and events so members can research prospects. It is not used to build personal marketing dossiers.
3. Why we use it
- To create and secure your account and let you use the features you have access to.
- To publish and match speaker profiles with event requirements.
- To reply to enquiries, confirm availability and administer a booking.
- To issue agreements, collect payment, pay speakers and keep financial records.
- To keep the service working, detect abuse and fraud, and investigate misuse.
- To send service notices such as membership, billing, scheduling and policy changes.
- To improve the service and decide what to build next.
Marketing email is optional. Where the law requires consent we ask for it, and every message carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
4. Who sees your information
Speaker profiles are public. Your name, headline, biography, topics, industry, city and country, languages, fee range, website and photo can be seen by anyone browsing the roster, and may be read by search engines. Do not put private contact details in a public biography.
Before a match. Open engagements in the Roster Room are shown to approved members without the organizer's contact details.
After a match. Once a booking is confirmed, the organizer and the speaker each receive the contact details needed to deliver the engagement.
Service providers. We share only what each provider needs: payment processing (Stripe), hosting, database and authentication (Lovable Cloud), email delivery, and error or usage monitoring. They may not use your information for their own marketing.
Legal requests. We may disclose information to comply with a valid legal order, to protect rights, safety or property, or in connection with a corporate transaction.
5. Cookies and similar technology
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and protect the service against abuse. Google's sign-in flow sets its own cookies on its own domain. We do not run advertising trackers on the platform, and we do not honour third-party ad cookies.
6. Where we store it and for how long
Records are stored in the United States. Account, profile and booking data is kept while your account is open. Invoices, agreements and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Backups are rotated, and deleted profiles are removed from live systems promptly and from backups on the backup schedule.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access: ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: update your profile in the dashboard, or ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
- Deletion: close your account and ask us to remove your profile and personal records.
- Portability: ask for your data in a machine-readable file.
- Objection and restriction: ask us to stop certain processing, such as analysis of usage data.
- No sale or sharing: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising.
Send requests to jpefoubou@bmecservices.com from the address on your account. We will verify your identity, respond within 30 days where the law sets a deadline, and explain any refusal. You may complain to your local data protection authority.
8. How we protect it
Access is protected by Google sign-in and time-limited session tokens. Data is encrypted in transit, database access is restricted to the service, privileged access is logged, and the pages that need a membership are checked against your account before they load. No system is perfectly secure, so tell us immediately if you believe your account is compromised.
9. Children and sensitive information
The service is for adults and is not directed at anyone under 18. Please do not send us sensitive information such as health, religious or political data about yourself or others in profiles, messages or booking notes.
10. Changes and contact
If this policy changes materially we will update this page, mark the new date, and where appropriate notify account holders by email.
